Cosplay at the Nishi-guchi

If you want to see people running around in costumes (without going all the way to Harajuku on a Sunday), just head out of Yokohama's West Exit (Nishi-guchi). If you head toward the Tokyu Hands store, there is one street where you are guaranteed to see either Pikachu, Gachapin, Chopper, or a host of other characters. Today I even saw one guy in a Minnie Mouse costume.
Recently, I also had the good fortune to meet one of my all-time favourites, this pink bear named Gloomy. Although he looks harmless, he also has really sharp claws that he uses to terrorize unsuspecting owners... luckily he didn't try to slash me this time.

Nissan World HQ
The new Nissan building is starting to really take shape. When complete, this will become the World HQ for all of Nissan's operations. It will also be a real landmark on the Yokohama skyline.
As you can see from the cranes, the construction is still only about half complete, and they seem to add another couple of stories each week. Next time I'll try to get some better pictures of the lobby. I wonder if they'll have a showroom in there eventually?

Yokohama Landmark Tower

This is actually Japan's tallest office building, and it is appropriately named the Yokohama Landmark Tower. When you come anywhere near Yokohama, you really can't miss it on the skyline.
For the business community, this is one of the more desirable addresses in town, although arguably Yokohama Station is more accessible by train.
